News Report on Social Enterprise Doctor Service Project

Rotary District 3450 Service Marketplace Project – Social Enterprise Doctor Kickoff Forum held on 22 Sept 2018 is reported on MetroDaily Newspaper.

Social Enterprise Doctor (SED) service project is forming voluntary management consultant teams under a number of Rotary Clubs from Rotary District 3450.  We provide voluntary management consultancy service in hand-in-hand basis, to the participating social enterprises (SEs).

By utilizing our professional knowledge, business experience, and social network, SED (fellow Rotarians) could equip the SEs with entrepreneurial thinking and innovative approaches to enhance their competitive advantage in the market, as well as improve their operating performance.  In term, increase their chance of healthy growth and long-term sustainability.  Hopefully, the SE can successfully operate in a business world and solve the social issues at the same time.

The SED project is following the Motto of Rotarians, which is “Service Above Self”.  To facilitate healthy development of SE in Hong Kong, could enable the socially disadvantaged to be self-reliant through employment, and also reduce all sorts of social issues.  The collective contribution of each participated Rotary Club to be SED could cultivate a caring culture in Hong Kong which help the economic development of our community as well as promote social cohesion and positive energy in our society!

Kick off Forum was held on 22 September 2018 with Opening Remark delivered by Rotary District 3450 District Governor Dr. YC HO.  And the signing of engagement letter by participating Rotary Clubs and Social Enterprise was witnessed by honorable guests including our panel speakers – Ms HUNG Pui Ling, Elsa (Assistant Commissioner of Efficiency Office, Innovation and Technology Bureau), Mr. CHUA Hoi-wai (Chief Executive of HKCSS), Mrs. Rebecca YUNG  (Chair Organising Committee of Social Enterprise Summit).
